The sludge valorisation generated in wastewater treatment plants and other activities as well, have gained importance due to rising energy prices, the possibility to use the energy on site and the more stringent environmental requirements set by government agencies.
Within this framework we find the WWTP sludge anaerobic digestion (AD), which generates biogas (energy) and a stable digestate, what can be used as fertilizer and soil amendment
Objective
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the main elements of biogas line at a WWTP including the equipments for biogas energy recovery
In the first part , the biogas main characteristics and different production sources and biogas final uses are analysed
In the second part of the course, delegate will study the most important components of the biogas line, starting from the equipments and devices to be installed on the digester to those are required to around consumption points or gas holder premise
Moreover a detailed analysis of alternatives for gas storage and biogas burning is carried out
In the third part the energy recovery from biogas is reviewed, paying special attention to main characteristics and features of: boilers, heat exchangers, generators (engines), microturbines etc.
In addition, a chapter is dedicated to analyse the risk of explosion and the measures to be adopted in order to minimize such risk. instrumentation required for this installation is also presented
Furthermore , the biogas cleaning needs to remove certain harmful components for equipment and environment are analysed.
Delegate will learn the main process for elimination of these elements (H2S, CO2, Humidity, siloxanes, etc.)
In the last part of the course, the design criteria and sizing of various elements are presented.
Delegates will learn to gauge and define various elements and equipments based on anaerobic sludge digestion data and regulations etc
Who should Enrol?
- Professionals linked with design, construction and operation of WWTP
- AD developers
- Central & local government officials engaged with AD
- Banks & investment houses, private investors
