In most parts of the world there are different ways of involving the private sector in water management. All these forms of participation, involving collaboration between the public and private sector, are included in the concept of Public-Private Partnership.
Being of great importance such partnerships, are expected to continue increasing its importance during following years
Aim
The main goal of the course is to provide the attendance an overview of the features of a public-private partnership (PPP) , the main characteristics of the “Concessions”, why they are interesting and important for water sector, and the advantages and disadvantages presented.
The trainee wil get an overview of what types of studies are needed and how to address them in a reasonable way
The context of the analysis is done within an international environment, and the tutors present several experiences and cases from different countries of the world.
Finally, participants also understand the fundamental principles of the management and financing of this kind of projects. They will also get a basic methodology for the analysis of any project of this nature.
